Jo's School Project

This is the beginning of Jo's lemon tree. In Japan over the summer holidays, the kids have lots of homework to do. One of the things they have to do is make some kind of project. This is Jo's first year, so he looked through my old craft books from when I was a kid....and he found this lemon tree! He bugged me for days to go and buy the ingredients, and has been working on it almost every day...when we get home from somewhere the first thing he says is, 'I wanna work on my lemon tree!'...the lemons are made out of clay and he is spray painting them below. When it is finished I will post some more pics. What a little worker he is!
Erinn has written a little about summer holidays in Japan on her blog...I couldn't have said it better myself! Click below to read on...

Gardener Jo

Jo has been a busy little gardener this summer. Apart from planting cucumbers, tomatoes and beans he planted some beautiful sun flowers outside the dining room window. I used to love gardening before the kids were born...but after having everything pulled up and moved around the yard I gave up...I'm glad to see Jo has taken on similar interests!

Ideas for the school holidays...

Who can this be???
This is the 'fix it' guy in our house. He collects cardboard boxes and EVERYTHING to make his inventions. I have to go through his room every now and again to clear out all the stuff....but he keeps finding new places to hide it! He just came in from outside with piece of paper with a pretty pattern on it...he just worked out that if he rubs his crayon on some paper over the grate on the driveway it makes different patterns...! Guess what he will be doing today! oh, now he's in the garden...good luck with that!
It is JO by the way...

I think these patterns are the grate, the door, the gate, the bench, the road, the table, the tree bark...whatever he could find to trace!
